So much has been wirtten about Tecumseh, but much of the active history potrays him as an ambitious soldier and not the statesman that he truly was.

I chose to write about Tecumseh in such detail becuase the current historical record leaves out the human element of his vision. It is motivation that is important in causes such as his--he was not simply a general leading a loosing battle. He was leader trying, under difficult circumstances, to mantain a way of life. He respected the Americans for their accomplisments but was angered over the way his people had been treated by the government. Though this last article ended with his death at the Battle of the Thames, my next exploration fo the life of Tecumseh will take a step back and explore his motivations and demonstrate more of his personality.
