Forced to leave their homelands, thousands of Native Americans endured a forced march into Oklahoma between the years 1831 and 1842.


This week we have taken a more detailed look at the Trail of Tears and how it relates to the displacement of the five southeastern tribes on North America. Here, we only gleaned the surface of the issue at hand and discussed the initial affect of this removal. In subsequent articles, we shall see how the resettlement of the five tribes affected thier development and led to thier involvement in the Civil War.
