The Civil War destroyed the peace and harmony of many nations. It quite literally set brother against brother. It also destroyed the government of the Cherokee nation and ignited a civil war among the Cherokee that resulted in the destruction of their union. Why would the Cherokee join the Confederacy? Was it a choice, or did the rapid winds of political change force them into a deal with the devil?
