Ok where to start. First of all we were not already citizens this was our land. Secondly how my people were violated would take way too long to tell. Here's a start.
1. Attacked by foreigners.
2. Forced off of land given to us by the creator.
3. Whole community's murdered.
4. Purposely infected with small pox by the blankets handed out by the government.
5. American troops and civilians paid for every scalp they turned.
6. Our children were unwillingly taken away to "school" so they could "assimilate" into the white society.
7. Children were beaten for speaking their native tongue the only language they knew.
8. Their hair was cut and they were called unbearable names like savage and squaw.
9. The financial impact is felt to this day by many living on the reservations.
10. Racism is everywhere.
11. Our history is still taught incorrectly in schools today.
12. Christopher Columbus is not a hero. He was a murder.

Please do a little research if you look for the truth you will find it. Educate yourself because you will not get the real story from your history books.
